We envision using second hand materials for art as not only a kind of salvation for the planet, but also a kind of redemption of for the creative sprit.  To collect, reuse, recycle makes us feel somehow like we are countering the ravages of overproduction.  A line of life connects us to every object that passes through our hands, and binds us to a responsibility for the world beyond ourselves.  The act of saving things is a gesture of redemption and leads ordinary objects beyond the rubbish heap.  To save is an act of Salvation.  Our building itself reflects this philosophy, utilizing salvaged materials and sustainable renewable energy whenever possible.  Most of our building materials have come from Construction Junction: all of our doors, windows, chairs and tiles, and even some of their assorted colored toilet tops were broken up and used for tile mosaics.
